How Long Is An EICR Valid For?

In a previous article on our website blog, we looked at how often an EICR needs to be carried out. While homeowners residing in the property are under no legal obligation to carry out an EICR during any given time period, landlord eicr’s are now bound by law to obtain a report every five years. Once the EICR has been completed, the report will remain valid for five years until the next check is due.

Again, it is important for us to point out that when an EICR is carried out in a private dwelling where the homeowner currently resides, it is recommended that the next check is done no later than ten years from the previous.
